Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi as we know it today is about 500 years old. It is a Chinese martial art and health exercise said to have originated from a Taoist priest named Chang San Feng. Tai Chi is well known in China for its excellent health benefits -- lower blood pressure, strong legs, relaxing movements and healthy joints. As a martial art, it is considered one of the highest levels in the martial art world. Tai Chi never uses force against force. The Chinese refer to Tai Chi's fighting strategy as Wise Force. It is excellent for all ages, women and men, strong and weak.

Yang style Tai Chi Chuan is the most popular Tai Chi style in the world today, partly because anyone can practice it and partly because of its beauty and martial art value. All phases of Yang Tai Chi are taught at the Marin Tai Chi Center.
